Anyone interested in serving on the Thomas Township Board of
Trustees has until 5 p.m. Monday to apply.
The board will pick the new member at a special meeting,
said Supervisor Robert A. Weise. A date is not yet set.
Applicants should submit resumes along with letters of
intent explaining why they want to serve.
The person chosen will serve through November 2008, the
remainder of the term of Vern Weber, who won appointment as
treasurer this month.

CLARE — The annual Clare Christmas open house runs from 11
a.m. to 4 p.m. today.
The event will include an appearance by Santa Claus, live
reindeer and carriage rides at the Clare city park, live
nativity scene at the Herrick House and a Christmas story
hour at the Pere Marquette District Library, among other
activities.
The Ideal Theater will show movie matinees from 1 p.m. to 3
p.m. Admission is free with the donation of canned food for
the Mid Michigan Community Action Agency.
Constituents in Saginaw and Gratiot counties may meet with a
representative of state Sen. Roger N. Kahn.
District Liaison Bill Adams will meet with constituents from
2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Monday at Hoyt Public Library, 505 Janes in
Saginaw. He will meet with residents from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Tuesday at the Alma Public Library, 351 N. Court in Alma.
